Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival Vilnius

Arrival to Vilnius. Transfer to the hotel. Sightseeing tour with a qualified guide in the Old Town, where you will take a walk in cobblestone streets, on vibrant yet romantic spirit of the past. By the way, in 1994 Old Town was included in UNESCO World Heritage List. You will visit Vilnius Cathedral and the Cathedral Square, the Royal Palace, the Presidential Palace, Vilnius University, Amber Museum-Gallery, and the Gates of Dawn.

In the evening, dinner will be waiting for you in the traditional Lithuanian restaurant or lovely dinner at TV tower restaurant which is located 165 meters height (for an additional fee, ordered in advance). Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2:Vilnius - Trakai - Kernave

Breakfast. During this day, you will get to visit two former capitals of Lithuania. First you will visit Trakai town – it’s one of the most prominent tourist destinations. The legendary Lithuanian royal residences, impressive blue lakes, scenic coastline, castles are all preserved here in Trakai. You will continue sightseeing Trakai Island Castle*. It’s an impressive island of Lake Galve which is the symbol of the city Trakai. It is the only castle in Eastern Europe, built on the island, and one of the most visited architectural sites in Lithuania. There is Palace on the island, where Trakai History Museum is located.  After lunch, you will go to Kernave. Historians believe that was the place (Sensibility Valley) where Lithuanian History began.  During XIII-XIV centuries, Kernave was one of Lithuania’s most important economic, political and defense centers of the country. The Old City of Kernave and the old church were announced as Kernave State Cultural Reserve in 2004. This area is included in the World Heritage site center. Return to Vilnius. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 (Thursday):Vilnius - Aukstaitija National Park

Breakfast. After breakfast, the tour will be traveling to the lakes, streams and forests surrounded by beautiful land – Aukstaitija National Park. It is the oldest Lithuanian National Park, established in 1974. You will visit Ginuciai mill*, which still has original old equipment from the 19th century. You will have a chance to visit the ancient beekeeping museum*, which is exhibited in old-fashioned farmhouses and under the open air.  And then you will visit Ladakalnis which is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Lithuania, built 175 meters above the sea level. On a sunny day from the top you can see 6 lakes. You will continue traveling look towards Paluse region to find Strigailiskis village, where you will be able to make a tasty Sakotis, in addition, you will be introduced to the history  Sakotis (tree cake baking). Overnight at the hotel / farmhouse.

Day 4:Vilnius - Zemaitija National Park - Klaipeda

Breakfast. After breakfast you will go to Zemaitija National Park – wonderful mounds, blue lakes, wooded land, human untouched land. Visit the Plunge manor * is one of the best-preserved manor estates in Lithuania. After you will visit Plateliai former USSR Armed Forces missile base *. Currently, there is a museum, a Soviet military uniform dressed guide will escort the former underground missile storage inspect the catacombs. Later excursion you continue in Plateliai, who is one of the most beautiful village of National park. On the outskirts of the village is viewpoint, which offers a wide panorama of the surroundings and the full glory – Plateliai Lake, which still has the largest, deepest, cleanest, most beautiful and picturesque Lake in Zemaitija. 

If possible, we will take a walk Seire nature trail, which will see the edge of the typical terrain, plants and animals. Overnight at the hotel / farmhouse.

Day 5:Klaipeda - Neringa - Nida

Breakfast. After breakfast the journey will start from Smiltyne – ferry sailed into one of the most beautiful Lithuanian places between two waters, tourists named it “the corner of the world”.

A short stop in Juodkrante. This is one of the most beautiful areas in it all year round. Nida is one of the oldest settlements of the Kursiu Nerija, known since 1429. Now tourists in Nida are fascinated by the tranquility, the unique nature and spectacular fishing lodges and stylish villas and their architecture.

Attend Witch Mountain which is on one of the most beautiful sand dunes located in Juodkrante. It’s an old wooden sculpture exhibition. Currently, there are about 80 oak sculptures which formed a huge impressive ensemble (witches, demons, dragons, and other fairy characters).

Nida. Nida village was known from the 1676. At that time, a current Nida area, which is considered an exclusive fishing museum under the sky is the oldest and best known of the Kursiu Nerija area, famous for the impressive Great Dune, where famous German writer Thomas Mann was spending his summers. Nida can admire for its stylish architecture of the lodges, their bright décor, carvings and ancient fishing boats. Nida had preserved the old cemetery with distinctive headstones.
Parnidzio dune. This semi-shifting dune is one of the most unique and popular Kursiu Nerija’s objects. Its height is 52 meters, although previously it was 17meters higher. There is also observation deck overlooking fabulous views on top of the dune.

Thomas Mann Memorial Museum*. The famous writer was fascinated by the lagoon and the fishing village beauty in 1930. He built a vacation home. Since 1995 summer house is a museum and cultural center where concerts, poetry meetings are held.  Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6:Rest of the Curonian Spit in one of the resorts

Breakfast. Rest of the Baltic Sea.

Not wishing to rest for an additional fee we visit the Lithuanian port city – Klaipeda. The Germans still called Memel – one of the most beautiful cities in Lithuania, which is adorned with exclusive architecture buildings. During the tour you will have a great chance to buy souvenirs: amber, linen products. Return to the Curonian Spit. Overnight at the hotel / farmhouse. Excursion surcharge, ordered in advance.

Day 7:Departure Vilnius

Breakfast. After breakfast departure to Vilnius. Evening walk in the streets of the Old Town of Vilnius, where you will have a great chance to buy souvenirs in shops. End of the journey.

What is cancellation policy?

Cancellation conditions: the Seller reserves the right to charge the following cancellation fees: for cancellations from 30-21 days prior to arrival – 30% of the basic tour price, for cancellations 20-7 days prior to arrival – 60% of the basic tour price, 6-1 days prior to arrival 70% of the basic tour price and for “no show” – 75% of the basic tour price.
