Itinerary

Day 1:Arrival Vilnius

Arrival to Vilnius. Transfer to the hotel. Rest.

In the evening, optional* dinner will be waiting for you in the traditional Lithuanian restaurant or lovely dinner at TV tower restaurant which is located 165 meters height (for an additional fee, ordered in advance). Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2:Vilnius – Trakai

Breakfast. After breakfast sightseeing tour with a qualified guide in the Vilnius Old Town, where you will take a walk in cobblestone streets, on vibrant yet romantic spirit of the past. By the way, in 1994 Old Town was included in UNESCO World Heritage List. You will visit Vilnius Cathedral and the Cathedral Square, the Royal Palace, the Presidential Palace, Vilnius University, Amber Museum-Gallery, and the Gates of Dawn.

Afternoon trip to Trakai, it’s one of the most prominent tourist destinations. The legendary Lithuanian royal residences, impressive blue lakes, scenic coastline, castles are all preserved here in Trakai. You will continue sightseeing Trakai Island Castle. It’s an impressive island of Lake Galve which is the symbol of the city Trakai. It is the only castle in Eastern Europe, built on the island, and one of the most visited architectural sites in Lithuania. There is Palace on the island, where Trakai History Museum is located. At the end of it we go to The Royal Old Kybyn Inn, the restaurant of Karaims National food “kibinai”. There we will try to make your own “kibinai”. You will be instructed how to make it. After that your “kibinai” will be cooked by the staff of the restaurant and during lunch time you will eat it together with one more extra “kibinai” made by the restaurant.  

If there is a good weather and the wishes of the opportunity to book flight over Trakai by hot air balloon. Balloons usually overfly the Trakai castle, several lakes and the national park. It is amazing possibility to see from high! Those who do not want to fly we can offer trip by boat in Trakai. Entertaining, educational ride in the lake in Trakai with comfortable, modern, ecological boat (hot air balloon and trip by boat for an additional fee, ordered in advance). Quite late at night we will go to Kaunas. For extra charge will be able to try national food in the old town of Kaunas. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3:Kaunas – Pakruojis Manor

After breakfast in hotel we will start exploring the city from Kaunas Castle. This is one of the most visited places in Kaunas – the impressive remains of the castle. The architectural point of view, Kaunas Castle is considered the oldest stone castle in Lithuania. In 1361m. Kaunas castle was mentioned in written sources for the first time. Kaunas Castle is located in Kaunas region tourism information center. The castle often hosts various cultural events and festivals. St. Jurgis Church and Bernardine Monastery is one of the oldest remaining building in Kaunas. The interior remained significant Renaissance and Gothic elements. Seminary. Its history began after 1863 rebellion. Motiejus Valančiaus, Antanas Baranauskas, Maironis, Vaižgantas worked in Kaunas. Kaunas Town Hall Square. This is one of the most beautiful and most famous buildings in Kaunas Old Town. House of Thunder. It is the oldest residential building in Kaunas. This house was built in XV century. It was thought that the building was formerly a temple dedicated to the God Thundered. Currently, the House of Thunder runs Jesuit High School Library. Vytautas the Great Church is located in a very beautiful place – on the right bank of the Nemunas River. It is believed that in 1400 Vytautas the Great built a wooden church first. This church was ruined many times by fires, military, and even the Nemunas River during spring time. Vilnius Street. The most beautiful street of the Old Town combines the old and the new town. Now it’s Peace alley (Laisves alley) where you will see  XVI century buildings, unique phone booths. It is located near the historical and Lithuanian Presidency. Liberty Avenue. This is the central street of the town. There are many city agencies, lots of greeneries, historical buildings, art monuments, shops, souvenir shops, cafes and bars in this street.  We will go to visit Sugihara House.

Sugihara house was a Japanese consulate in 1939-1940 where a famous Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara worked. This diplomat became famous when he saved the lives of about 10,000 Lithuanian, Polish and German Jews during the years of World War II. He issued “life visas” to Japan without any official approval of Japanese Government. Many Jews called the gates which once were next to the house the “gates of hope”.

Next we star to move to North of Lithuania. We will reach small village called Seduva. There we will have lunch. Nice peaceful place relaxing moments and nice Lithuanian food. 

After nice meal we will move to Pakruojis Manor. Which has a very big sort of entertainment and educational programs in amazing and huge territory. We will have a very nice excursion which called “The Visit to Baron”.

This theatrical excursion is very entertaining for all kinds of people. The Manor’s governess will meet you and will help to dress up properly that you could meet the owner of this Manor Mr. Baron. Then you will introduced to etiquette rules by Mrs Baroness and only than you will be able to see with Mr. Baron. He will open the doors to his mansion and will introduce you with secrets of aristocrat’s entertainment. As befits a high society gentlemen together you will have a paint the living figure, which will be captured by the estate photographer – his album will have a real shot of vintage.     

After all the aristocratic classes and delicate living legends estate disclosures Baron with his precious lady will invite you to the palace dining room to enjoy delicious tea and distinct Baron secret recipe bitters.

And at the end of this tour gramophone comfortable squeaky ancient melody, you will have the opportunity to listen in love POETRY read by Baron – it will take you to some of the most beautiful feelings and dreams.

Next you will be accommodate in the hotel “Stadala” of Manor which is a peaceful place and sanctuary from urban noise and way of life.

For those who love to have more vintage photos can order a photo session in the area. Also the Manor has very good SPA and massage service, you can relax here after long day. In the evening you can have dinner and try-out local food in restaurant “Taktierius”. Overnight in Stadala Hotel of Pakruojis Manor.

Day 4:Siauliai – Rundale – Mazotne – Riga

After breakfast we move to Siauliai, but we will just passing bye this 4th by the size city in Lithuania. Our fort target of a day is Lithuania. The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania is an architectural and historical place. The Hill of Crosses, where everyone not only from Lithuania have set crosses for couple centuries. We will have short stop here to take a luck at unique place in all the Baltic States. Then we will go to Latvia, and our first attraction will be the most beautiful Rundale Manor in the South of Latvia. Rundale Manor is also called “Little Versailles”. It is situated on the Zemgale lowland. Near the castle is located a beautiful park. This amazing Palace is one of Latvia’s most famous architectural landmarks – a Baroque period ensemble complete with palace, barns and garden-park. This palace was designed by Italian architect F. B. Rastreli, who created the famous Hermitage palace in St. Petersburg. Rundale Palace, keeping the original idea of the creator – the palace in the centre, represent the power of the king. At the moment, in the palace are big art collection.  We spend here few hours and then our group will go straight to Riga.

In Riga you will have some more free time to explore the city by you own and to make so souvenir shopping. For extra charge we can organize the dinner in show in Riga’s most famous national food restaurants.  Overnight in hotel.   

Day 5:Riga – Open air museum – Sigulda

Breakfast. After breakfast drive to Ethnographic open air museum founded in 1924y. It’s just 10km away rom Riga. The only place in Latvia where it is suitable to view the similarities and distinctions of how people used to live in the various historical regions of Latvia. There you can find 118 historical buildings from all four of Latvia’s provinces. Take a walk through traditional farmsteads and accommodation houses of craftsmen, farmers and fishermen, view everyday objects used during the time, and see how people historically decorated their props, as well as how people made a living. The excellent place for a leisurely walk in the fresh air. After we visit open air museum our next stop is in Sigulda. This town is located in Gauja National Park which is the largest and oldest of the national parks in Latvia. Visit Turaida Castle builded in 13th century, castle also is known for its beautiful surroundings and history. Gutmanis cave, the biggest cave in the Baltics.  Big and long, with many notches on the walls. You can even find coat of arms from hundreds of years ago. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6:Sigulda – Muhu and Saaremaa Islands in Estonia

Breakfast in hotel. After breakfast drive to Kuressaare, the only town in the island of Saaremaa. En route short stop to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu. Sunny Parnu has been the official summer capital of Estonia for many years! It is a popular summer vacation resort with many hotels, restaurants, and large beaches. Lunch time. Short ferry ride to Muhu Island and further drive to Saaremaa with a stop at the village of Koguva. Koguva village is ancient and the famous fishing village and marina have been here since times immemorial. Tour of Saaremaa Island: Angla windmills, where five wooden windmills constructed at the end of the 20th century are open to the public. Karja church, the smallest church in the island, also it is the most beautiful of the churches in Saaremaa with a lot of remaining medieval interior details. Kaali crater, where a meteorite left its mark a few thousand years ago; and other sights. Evening arrival to Kuressaare. Dinner and optional evening activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7:Hiiumma Island – Haapsalu - Tallinn

Breakfast in hotel. After breakfast tour of Kuressaare. Kuressaare is the only town on Estonia’s largest island Saaremaa. City offers for tourist’s visitors to see a medieval fortress, there are plenty of cozy cafés, a rich cultural scene, not a few spa and wellness centers, a remarkable island atmosphere and it has amazing beaches. Lunch time. Drive to Hiiumaa, the second largest Estonian island. Fast ferry ride and then drive in Hiiumaa, visiting the Kõpu lighthouse which is built at 67 meters above sea level. Kõpu is the third oldest constantly operating lighthouse in the world. After travel and visit to the village of Tahkuna for a beautiful view of Tahkuna nose, lighthouse and stone labyrinth. Further drive and a quick ferry ride to Haapsalu where another Episcopal castle also known as Kuressaare Castle, who was built in the 14th century. Today, the Castle houses Saaremaa Museum with its regular exhibition and various temporary shows.

After drive to Tallinn. Evening arrival to a hotel in Tallinn. Dinner and optional evening activities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8:Tallinn – Open air museum Rocca Al Mare

Breakfast. After breakfast walking tour in the UNESCO heritage listed Tallinn Old Town. During the tour, you will see the best of both medieval and up-to-date parts of Tallinn. You can enjoy plenty of marvels through various eras and a quiet walk through stories worth of several centuries. Explore Holy Spirit Church that was built in the 14th century is one of the oldest and finest structures in Tallinn. The 600 years old Gothic Town Hall. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an orthodox cathedral. The world`s oldest functioning Pharmacy on Town Hall Square and the 159 m. tall Oleveste Church which was the highest construction in the world in the 16th century. The tour ends near Toompea Hill for amazing views over the city. Toompea Castle was built in the 13th and 14th centuries and is the seat of Estonia’s parliament. Lunch time. Just after that we go to Open Air Museum Rocca al Mare.   Just 15 minutes from the city center of Tallinn is the Estonian Open Air Museum, showcasing the country’s rural architecture and way of life. The 14 farms in the museum provide an overview of how families from different strata of society lived in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. As you might expect to find in any proper village, here there is a church, a tavern, a school house, mills, a fire station, a shop and fishing sheds by the sea. You can buy handicrafts, ride horses and try traditional Estonian dishes at the tavern if you will still hungry.

Then we will move back to Tallinn were we will our last dinner* in famous Porgu Restaurant. Advance booking is necessary. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 9:Transfer to Tallinn airport Flight back home

Breakfast. After breakfast we will take you to the airport of Tallinn where you will have your fight back to your country.
